It's similar to the first Layers of Fear game, as far as jump scares, special effects and attention to detail. The environment is constantly changing, sometimes by simply turning around. This game is a trip! This is one of the more bizarre titles of horror games I've played. If you like horror games that'll screw with your head, Layers of Fear 2 is it. Only bug I encountered was not getting achievements until I passed Act 1, but I don't play games for achievements so not a big deal. I will finish this game even though it hurts to play lol in a good way. As a Horror fan they made 3 masterpieces. I hope bloober can continue to make stuff like this. The medium and blair witch were very bad games to me. This is its own monster, much more ambitious in story and scope than LoF 1. Layers of Fear 1 was an amazing follow up. Observer is one of the greatest horror games I have ever played. I just don't understand how their games can make me feel this paranoid. What starts as a beautifully rendered ship slowly becomes a rotten horror infested coffin. Clever imagery has you feeling quite uneasy throughout. The game makes you literally not want to turn around and face your fears. What bloober does with visual tricks is amazing. The moody atmosphere and slow fall into madness is quite brilliant. I wonder if they played the 1st game, because it certainly was not call of duty. I saw other reviews saying it was boring and a walking simulator.
I just finished Act 2 and this game is a winner for me. Bloober has some really good developers on board.
